Cagayan land casinos add a fresh technique with VOIP
The Cagayan jurisdiction in the Philippines is catering remotely for high rollers whose busy lives and need for anonymity preclude them from appearing personally in land casinos.
First Cagayan Resort and Leisure Corp., which holds a gaming franchise in Sta. Ana town, Cagayan has one such facility and media reports indicate there may be another on the cards in an area which is apparently fast shaping up as the newest destination for Asia’s high rollers.
Voiceover Internet Protocol (VoIP) is the communications channel of choice for these absent but very active players, and unidentified Asian backers are apparently behind plans to introduce a second facility for this niche market.
The high roller sends a "representative" in his stead to the customised gambling venue, and then directs the proxy via VoIP on what bets and decisions to take, not unlike the telephone bids common at high value art auctions. The high roller is still given lavish perks by the casino for his or her action, delivered independently.
High rollers who spend millions of US dollars in the casino and do not have the time to travel often look for “satellite” gambling facilities that offer these lavish perks, including charter planes and hotel accommodation for their representatives. |
