Poker Stars releases beta version of Mac client

In a move long-awaited by industry watchers, online poker giant PokerStars announced late this week that they had released a version of their popular poker room software designed to run natively on Macs.

The software is being classified as a beta release, and it does lack a few of the minor features available in the PC version. Excerpt from the PokerStars Blog post announcing the release:

PokerStars just announced today that it has released the Mac version of its software. While still in beta mode, the Mac PokerStars software offers nearly all of the same features as the regular version of PokerStars. The only notable exceptions are that at present the PokerStars Mac beta software does not support the Layout Manager or Preferred Seat features. Other than that, it is everything you have come to expect from PokerStars, except now, it’s on your Mac.
