Stronger currency means better opportunities says online poker network
On 1st October 2007 the Boss Media network, the software provider to CelebPoker.com, will be changing its currency from US Dollars to Euros.
With the US market closed and the majority of players on the network based across Europe, a change to Euros as the main playing currency is seen as a positive move that will benefit CelebPoker and its players, the company said in a statement this week.
"The Euro is a much stronger currency than the Dollar at the moment, giving players the chance to effectively win a lot more money."
During the conversion, CelebPoker has advised that any disruptions to the players will be kept to a minimum. The switch will be implemented between 30th September and 1st October and it is anticipated that players may experience some problems accessing the site during this period.
All player accounts, pending bonuses, buy-ins and prize pools will be shown in Euros as of this date. Poker tables within the software will still offer a variety of currencies but deposit and withdrawal transactions will only be processed in Euros.
The exchange rate to be used for the currency changeover is from the European Central Bank.
Linda Donovan, Poker Room Manager at CelebPoker.com, explained: "Our first priority is to provide the best service possible to our valued online poker playing community, and as the majority of them are based in Europe, this move will be a really positive one. As most of our players currently use the Euro every day, the currency change is definitely a necessary move for CelebPoker. I am confident all of our players from around the world will also relish opportunity to play for bigger cash prizes and see this as a really positive move."
Players who use e-wallets such as Neteller or MoneyBookers in US$ currency have been advised to request an E-wallet in Euros. |
